I am still on the hunt for properly macho furniture tonight. But, while I was logging in and setting things right -- my preferred Windlight setting, the rendervolumeLOD thing-a-ma-bob that makes sculpts rez, graphics for a good picture, etc. -- it struck me just how technical SL is. It never really hit me like this before. What they hey is a rendervolumeLOD? Why can't it be called "Improve Sculpts" or something and why do I have to touch it at all? Why isn't that always on and just a given? Why must I fiddle with it? I'm not sure what the answer is (and I don't want to lose any of the options we have) since I am sure all the oddly named adjustment tools have some impact on each users' computer performance. I never got Viewer 2.X to let me log in so I am not sure if the labeling was improved or not.

So what's in a name? That which we call a Cheezy Beacon by any other name would still... do something but I can't for the life of me guess what.

Rich leather, brandy, cigars, romance -- those are inspirations for the mood I am trying to create in Jerremy's office. He gave me the OK to decorate in there. Jerremy is a fascinating man with lots of interests, so his office should reflect that.

Today, I was on the hunt for a great leather couch or some chairs to arrange in front of the fireplace. It isn't easy to find furniture in SL that isn't too feminine. SL has so much shabby chic! But to me, shabby chic looks too girly for what I want to design. I found some non-shabby chic things but, while lovely, they weren't quite what I was looking for. The hunt continues!

It isn't even that I buy so many - it's that I have let it build up for too long. I get all excited about a hair and buy it, but not so excited about the process of fitting it and filing it in the proper style folder. I need to make judgement calls sometimes and that can be exhausting. For example, if I have an updo that has the hair swept off the face, should it go in UPDOS or OFF THE FACE? Or if I have a curly shoulder length bob, should it go in SHORT or LOOSE WAVY/CURLY? Sigh. It is soooooo hard to be a girl.

I love reading back issues and their website, too. It put me in a really good mood - mostly because their writing is so upbeat and it makes you feel smarter, IMHO. I know I feel smarter having spent time doing this today. They need a place in SL. Really. I was always sad that WIRED left SL (Although I have no idea what they did here. ]]> Jerremy and I had a relaxing night -- we needed it. We sort of search hopped and landed at Backwoods Bicycle Trail. The bikes are free to use. Just hop on one. Since I jumped onto the bike first, at first Jerremy thought I was steering the bike and was impressed that I wasn't driving us off cliffs and into rivers. But the bike steers itself -- you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride. The pictures on my post today were taken by Jerremy.

There is actually a lot to do here (for some reason I think we went skiing here a while back) -- you can bike, ride horses and take a balloon ride. That is what we are doing in the picture below -- taking a romantic balloon ride. Except the balloon did not steer itself and I made the mistake of sitting in it first -- it made me the driver. I struggled so hard to keep us going in one direction that I'm surprised Jerremy didn't get motion sickness. But, since he didn't have to drive, he had a chance to take pictures and I love his pictures. <3
